Good Times Recordings is Chicago's best deal for professional mobile studio recording. Whether your band needs to track a demo to get that gig, make an EP to lure them to the show, or if you're ready to create an album for the ages you need to contact Good Times. Our Studio Our setup is expressly mobile, so we can bring the studio to your practice space. We have all the right mics to make any guitar, vocal, bass, kit, or other instrument power through the mix. Using our digital recording process, which provides endless tracks at your disposal, you can create your own Sgt. Pepper opus whether you're a solo performer or a large group. Sessions are mixed and mastered in-house. The Good Times mixing process is just that. We will give you a CD or even email you high quality mp3's of fresh mixes for your input and approval throughout the production process. While we can't make you perform better, we will move instruments around the mix, add almost any effect you can think of, and of course make stuff louder and quieter, all based on your guidance. And by emailing mp3's, the whole band can have the mix waiting in the inbox by the time you've made it home. This means that our production process leaves you with clean, crisp, and loud recordings that are tuned to your specifications. At the end we will provide the master tracks for duplication. We can also provide the original digital project files, should you want to remaster it when you've been given that Lifetime Achievement Grammy. We've recorded a variety of instruments including electric and acoustic guitars and bass, drums, harmonica, accordion, keyboards, piano, clarinet, mandolin, various percussion, and even a foot stomping on a skateboard. And this one time, rain. So challenge us if you want to, we'll work to get the best sound out of whatever you've got. It's Good Times! Our Gear Recordings are processed through Echo and M-Audio analog-to-digital I/O devices into Apple Mac Pro and MacBook Pro computers running Logic Studio or Pro Tools. We then use Ozone or T-Racks to master our tracks. We have portable rackmounted gear which can be utilized at any location that's got an electrical outlet. We use large and small diaphram condenser, industry-standard dynamic, ribbon, and pressure zone microphones. We've got a few different bass drum mics to get the sound you want. We can record up to 24 tracks simultaneously, although most projects will use 8-10 or 16-18 simultaneous tracks (depending on the I/O used). Because we use digital recording techniques, there are limitless amounts of tracks available per recording. Audio Engineers Tony: Tony Maietta has been recording and engineering audio projects since 1998, when he started tracking his drums, guitar, and bass for band demos and personal recordings. Over the last decade, Tony has built his rig up from a tape deck 4-track to his current Logic Studio setup. Tony learned a lot of tricks and techniques by constantly tracking and improving his material. Tony is currently a guitarist and vocalist in The Black Oil Brothers, who coincidentally are recording their first full-length album at Good Times. Other artists Tony has recorded include The Sleepers and Tyla (of the Dogs D'Amour). The Sleepers' cover of Kiss' Strutter was recorded at their practice space and in Tony's living room, and was played on Q101's Local 101. Tyla's demo of 111 was created for the artist and was recorded in Tony's living room.
